This poster is made in collaboration with Arts Project Australia, a Melbourne-based gallery and studio that supports artists with intellectual disabilities.

Artist Jordan Dymke immerses us in the entire world of cookbook author Julia Busuttil Nishimura in his portrayal of her Torta Paradiso - an Italian sponge cake with stewed plums.

In a watercolour series, Jordan depicts a slice of the Torta Paradiso on the cook’s favourite plate, followed by jewel-like plums spilling from a bowl.

In a heartfelt homage, Jordan also includes Julia herself, captured in her kitchen—a space that is integral to her work. In portraying Julia in this piece, it reminds us that a recipe is more than ingredients; a recipe is a direct expression of the person who creates it.
